Juan - Assistant Manager & Dog Trainer
Juan is a full-time employee at Lucky Buddies Pet Sitting, having joined the team on July 4th, 2021. He has a deep love for all animals and currently owns a lizard named Ellie. Passionate about his work, he is now certified personal trainer for dog obedience.

What is your favorite part about pet sitting?
"My favorite part about pet sitting is being able to spend quality time with the buddies and playing fetch with them during the day."
Yesica - Manager & Dog Trainer
Yesica is the founder of Lucky Buddies Pet Sitting and has been successfully running the business since 2020. Her inspiration to start the business came after her dog, Lucky, was paralyzed. Today, Lucky serves as the company ambassador, and together, they continue to serve the community.

What is your favorite part about pet sitting?
"My favorite part about pet sitting is being able to meet so many amazing animals and being able to see them grow."
Maria - Pet Care Specialist
Maria is a part-time employee at Lucky Buddies Pet Sitting. She is currently pursuing her Bachelor's degree in Interior Design at San Francisco State University. Hired in May 2022, Maria enjoys working with animals and has a cockapoo poodle mix named Princess.
What is your favorite part about pet sitting?
"My favorite part of pet sitting is getting to play and interact with the dogs because they all have their own unique and funny personalities. I also enjoy doing neighborhood walks with them because it allows for more intimate bonding time and for the pups to get more comfortable with us."
Alex - Manager
Alex is a full-time employee and part owner of Lucky Buddies, having joined the team in 2022. With 11 years of experience as a manager, Alex brings a wealth of knowledge and a passion for animals to the business. He enjoys managing the amazing staff and being a part of the Lucky Buddies team.
What is your favorite part about pet sitting?
"My favorite part of pet sitting is learning and observing every animals different behavior and personality. It is very rewarding to have these interactions every day."
Esmeralda - Pet Care Specialist
Esme joined Lucky Buddies in October 2022. She studied Nutrition at University Arandas in Mexico and earned her diploma in medical nutrition. She loves animals and eventually wants to learn more about animal nutrition. Esme is currently only fluent in Spanish speaking and provides day and overnight care for Lucky Buddies. Esme has a cockapoo named "Niña".
What is your favorite part about pet sitting?
"My favorite part of my job is to see the Buddies having a great day enjoying themselves under our care. I enjoy playing with them and giving them love."
Cheli - Pet Care Specialist
Cheli joined Lucky Buddies in August 2024 as a full-time employee. Before making the switch to working with animals, she worked for a trucking company. Cheli has a pet named Kuzco Bean and had a beloved dog, Luna, for many years before she passed away and is now in doggy heaven.
What is your favorite part about pet sitting?
"My favorite part of the job is getting to enjoy quality time with the buddies while on our neighborhood walks."

Our Story 🐾
Our love for animals and passion for serving others inspired us to create Lucky Buddies Pet Sitting. Founded in 2020 during the pandemic, our mission has always been to provide loving, reliable pet care for the San Jose community.
Unlike large daycare corporations, we intentionally keep our groups smaller so every pet receives personalized attention, affection, and plenty of playtime. We proudly care for dogs, cats, birds, and small indoor pets, ensuring each one gets the attention and care they deserve.
We believe pets thrive in a nurturing, home-like environment, and our spacious setup allows them to feel safe, comfortable, and truly at home. At Lucky Buddies, our dedicated team treats every pet like family prioritizing their comfort, happiness, and well-being every single day.

Lucky is the heart and soul behind everything we do. After becoming paralyzed in his two rear legs, he became the inspiration for building a business that welcomes all pets—including those with special needs.
When Yesica returned home during the pandemic and stepped away from her previous career, she discovered her true calling: creating a space where pets could receive the love, patience, and care they deserve.
Since then, Lucky Buddies has grown into more than just a pet care service—we’ve helped many pets overcome anxiety, build confidence, and feel safe in a supportive and inclusive environment.
